Jendi Reiter is the author of nine books of poetry and prose, including the poetry collection Introvert Pervert (The Word Works, 2026) and the novels Two Natures and Origin Story, both from Saddle Road Press. Their work explores themes of belonging and becoming, magic, queerness, and family violence.
Recent poetry awards include two fellowships from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, the Saints & Sinners Literary Festival Award, and the Oscar Wilde Award from Gival Press. Two Natures won the Rainbow Award for Best Contemporary Gay Fiction, and Origin Story was a finalist for the Foreword INDIES and the Black Lawrence Press Big Moose Prize. Their short fiction and essays have appeared in journals such as Electric Literature, Georgetown Review, The New Guard, The Rumpus, Solstice Lit Mag, Newport Review, and Passages North.
Jendi has taught writing and art workshops at the Massachusetts Tarot Society, Ollom Movement Art in New York City, Easton Mountain Retreat Center, Transhealth Northampton, and the San Bernardino Juvenile Detention Center in California. They are the editor of the writing resource site WinningWriters.com.
Jendi holds degrees from Harvard, Columbia, and the Temple of Witchcraft Mystery School. Raised on the Lower East Side of NYC, they now live in Western Massachusetts with their family.
